We control the chemical composition to ensure the perfect balance between structural strength and surface quality, making the right decisions. 6000 series aluminium alloys are considered indispensable in the extrusion sector. This alloy series includes alloys that offer the most balanced combination of excellent extrusability and mechanical strength. From a metallurgical and materials engineering perspective, these alloys allow us to achieve excellent surface quality even in complex thin-walled profiles.
Thanks to the balance of Magnesium (Mg) and Silicon (Si), the 6000 series alloys respond exceptionally well to heat treatment (T-Temper). They provide both visual perfection in architectural anodizing applications and more than meet the corrosion resistance requirements in structural projects.
The content of Magnesium and Silicon in these alloys directly affects product quality. If the iron (Fe) content exceeds the critical level, a rough/grayish surface will form, reducing the anodizing quality and causing aesthetic defects. It is practically impossible to have zero iron content. Without any iron, the aluminium could stick to the mold during extrusion, reducing surface quality. For these reasons, controlling the iron content requires engineering expertise.
